Destination guide: La Plagne, France

La Plagne’s is a well ski resort among skiing enthusiasts. It offers top lift that is present on a snowsure glacier which is 3,250m and pistes are around 1,250m high. It comprises of 225km long marked runs and a double-decker cable car that extend to even further by linking it to another 200km, which is present around Les Arcs that are its neighbours, and altogether it from a vast Paradiski area, where there are about 132 lifts.

Despite all these facilities, La Plagne cannot be termed as the best snow destination when compared to other amazing locations present out there in the world. – Moreover one can also not call it one of the best destinations in France. Primarily because the resort does not have its single identity as well as characteristics and fails to render an amazing experience despite the potential it has.

La Plagne is formed after combing a group of 10 different villages scattered across a vast and quite a gentle plateau which is located beside the mountain. Among these, four are traditional farming villages and the rest of the ski resorts are based on the purpose that is present at different heights. The hub of the resort comprises of Plagne Centre and Belle Plagne, wherein Montchavin and Champagny-en-Vanoise are rural yet rich kitsch. None of this villages are quite big enough that can support quite a bit accommodation and therefore all offer moderate or mediocre lodging.

Likewise, the food served here is not to very high standards, and it is not just the price, but also the quality of the food is mediocre. However, you can certainly find some good restaurants. Wherein, the ski area the region is best for those who are not that proficient skiers and those who wish to take their families and want to ski on vast and gentle slopes, and however it lacks the linkage of competitors Espace Killy and Trois Vallées.

Though this ski ground is not great for experienced skiers there are some off- piste trails as well as 1,000m-plus descents for adventurous skiers. The resort is also known as a vast ski factory on the fact that of the crowded these slopes receive during the main skiing season. It is advised not to visit the place in the month of February. Apart from this, you will the place is quite crowded as well as tour operator-catered chalets make La Plagne one of the most sensible choices for families.
