Whistler, Canada Add New Run

Destination guide: Whistler, Canada

Whistler Blackcomb comes under one of the top skiing location of North America. It is a gigantic ski resort located in the British Columbia’s Coast Mountains, and the best part is that it is just two hours away from the international airport of Vancouver; it also has two conjoined places — Blackcomb and Whistler. Skiers and snowboarders seeking big time adventure must try this resort.

It receives snow in abundance, and offers very long vertical drops, the steeps, the largest terrain parks, a good number of runs, and the ski area is one of the largest in the continent. All in all, it is a large ski resort. Moreover, it gets an ample lot of media attention and is touted as one of the best ski resort in North America.

This is quite a new ski town which was opened in 1966, and the base was developed within a decade. Ever since then it has evolved into a thriving resort village, however it is not adorned with any historic fables attached to it. Everything else gets covered up when it accommodates 20,000 beds and 3,000 party animals cum ski lovers, from across the globe. Though there are several sub-villages, however, Whistler Village is the most sought after one. Fairmont Chateau Whistler is a hotel for those who have a lofty budget for their trip. Wherein, the ones who have budget constraints can stay at Aava Whistler Hotel.

The place has restaurants such as the Pasta Lupino, which is suitable for every pocket and Umberto’s Trattoria for those who like to spend lavishly. For social freaks as well as party lovers, there are four party spots after ski and one is there for each base: for people in the Creekside we have Dusty’s Bar & BBQ in, Whistler Village has GLC, and at Blackcomb Base, we have the Merlin’s Bar & Grill.

The day when you decide to take a break from skiing, you can take a tour to the tube park, Bobsledding, as well as the Scandinave Spa Whistler. Blackcomb Glacier located on the Blackcomb Mountain as well as Peak to Creek located on the Whistler Mountain are the best rest day activity.
