Engelberg, Switzerland Add New Run

Destination guide: Engelberg, Switzerland

Engelberg is a place for powder. But beware, the latest years the competition has increased. A lot. The village is a quite nice alp village with quite a few good restaurants and many hotels. The closeness to Zurich makes it a perfect weekend destination for the Swiss. Except for the swiss there are a lot of Swedes here. Unfortuantely since the like off pist skiing.

The system is on two sides of the village. The smaller southside Brunni and then Mount Titlis. The latter is where most people prefer to ski. New for 2017 season is the new gondola that takes you from mid-station to the top of Titlis very fast. But be sure to not miss the old rotating gondola to see all the views.

Most of the skiing is done between Titlis and the Jochpass side. Its like a big bowl full of different descents and tracks. Engelberg is a great place with lots of opportunities. When its snowing here it can snow a lot. The high altitude makes it possible to find cold snow early and late in the season and if, in general, there is a warm season Titlis is a greta mountain. Some of the more know runs are Laub (Beware the avalansches), Galtiberg, Steinberg and the Giraffe. Make sure to ski them all!

Remember you will be skiing on a glacier and respect all Wildschuss areas. Otherwise it gets expensive. Great places to stay is Hotel Catrine or the Ski Lodge and if you wanna eat we can recomend The Ski lodge for fine dining and the Yucatan for burgers and texmex food. Lets go skiing!
